OBJECTIVE OF THE AIRE PROJECT:

The general objective of the AIRE project is to investigate a set of new sustainable technologies that will lay the foundations of knowledge for future developments of elementary parts and assemblies that will reduce pollutant emissions both in their production processes and in the aircraft once in service. To this end, several lines of research will be addressed in different areas such as:

  1. THERMOPLASTICS: Research in technologies for structural components in recyclable composite materials.
  2. LIQUID RESIN INFUSION: Research in new manufacturing processes of composite materials, for the optimization of processes, material consumption and energy saving.
  3. INTELLIGENT ASSEMBLY: Research in intelligent assembly processes to optimize machining, supplementing and positioning processes.
  4. TESTING TECHNOLOGIES: Research in materials characterization technologies for simulation, non-intrusive testing and inspection and design for functional testing and wiring diagnostics.

In order to carry out the research of these technologies, Aciturri Engineering has the following consortium partners: Airbus DS; Aerys, MTorres, Principia and Titania. In addition to this, the following Technology Centers will also work: CIDAUT, TECNALIA, FIDAMC, UCA, CATEC, UPM, UJA, UC3M, URJC and US.

This project has been subsidized by the CDTI with file number PTAG-20221019 through the call for the year 2022 of the procedure for granting aid for Strategic Sectorial Business Innovation Initiatives ("Aeronautical Technology Program"), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (financed by Next Generation EU funds, including the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism) and the State Program to Catalyze Innovation and Business Leadership of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2021-2023.
