  • During 10 months, 20 professionals from both companies will develop key knowledge and competencies to evolve to management functions.

  • The initiative has Deusto Business School as a strategic partner for the design and delivery of the program.

Aciturri and Alestis have held this morning at the headquarters of Deusto Business School (DBS) in Madrid the inaugural session of the second edition of Impulsa, the internal training program aimed at company professionals with the potential to take on area or plant management functions. The aim is to enable these people to develop the key skills and knowledge necessary to successfully perform their current role and those that may be assigned to them in the future.

The initiative, led and managed by the People, Safety and Environment area, has DBS as a strategic partner for the design and delivery of the program. Among the main objectives of Impulsa are the development of knowledge and key competencies for participants to evolve towards management functions and the promotion of innovation as a tool for continuous improvement.

María Eugenia Clemente Zárate, Managing Director of Alestis, and Álvaro Fernández Baragaño, Managing Director of Aciturri, agreed during the inaugural session when they highlighted "the need to develop this type of action to develop internal talent and reinforce our strategy of maintaining long-term relationships with the people who form part of the Company and who will be the true architects of the transformation and growth process that our industrial project is facing".

This second edition of the program will be attended by 20 people from the Engineering, Operations, Programs and Corporate Services areas of both firms, and will run until the end of October 2023, on Friday and Saturday days at the DBS headquarters in Madrid. The different modules incorporate content on various disciplines such as Operational Finance, Strategic Management, Digital Transformation and Growth Models, Project Management, Negotiation and Decision Making. All of them will be coordinated by the Academic Director of Impulsa, Mr. Juan Miguel Poyatos, and taught by professionals in each of the subjects such as María Iturriaga, Marisa Gutiérrez, Álex Rayón or Jon Segovia, among others.

The academic sessions will also include the participation of executives and managers from Alestis and Aciturri, who will share with the students the main challenges facing the company in the future and discuss the aspects addressed in each of the modules.

Throughout the program, participants will also combine the sessions with the development of a final project in teams, which they will have to present and defend at the closing ceremony before a jury made up of the DBS team and executives and members of the boards of directors of Aciturri and Alestis.

Impulsa also includes a series of visits to different company facilities to promote the exchange of opinions or approaches to the subjects under study.
