Aciturri delivers BelugaXL aircraft AC4

Aciturri Aerostructures has recently completed the fourth delivery of the Beluga XL, the Airbus new generation of transport aircraft. This model has, among other features, a payload length of 63 meters long and 8 meters wide, being able to transport up to two A350 XWB complete wings. In addition, BelugaXL has a maximum payload of 51 tons and 4,000 km. range.
Aciturri delivered in April the aerostructures, assemblies and detail parts corresponding to the HTP and Ventral Fin of the AC4, although due to the forced stoppage caused by the Covid-19 crisis, it was not until last week, when assembly operations at the FAL in Toulouse took place. One Aciturri Assembly technical team made up of 6 people, moved there to ensure all the necessary safety and health measures, as well as an effective work.
With this, there are already four aircraft delivered by Aciturri within the BelugaXL 230 & 260 work packages, in which we assumed since 2015 the HTP and Ventral Fin “design & build” responsibilities. At this time, we started working at the FAL in Toulouse in close collaboration with Airbus, dealing with the design, calculation, production engineering, manufacturing, assembly and HTP extension box integration.
The first BelugaXL made its first operational flight last January, after receiving the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification. A total of 6 units of this aircraft are planned and will be gradually put into service until the beginning of 2023.
