Start of robotics courses from Bebot Project

The program for the promotion of Bebot technological vocations, promoted by Aciturri in collaboration with the Caja de Burgos Foundation and the Galletas Coral Foundation, starts its activity during the 2018-2019 academic year with two robotics and technology workshops aimed at children and young people from Miranda de Ebro.
Adapted to two age ranges (Bebot Kids – for children from 6 to 9 years old – and Bebot First – 10 to 16 years old –), the courses represent an alternative itinerary to regulated education in which to develop skills and competences such as creativity, calculation, the resolution of problems, teamwork, adaptability or logic, so demanded in the current scenario of digital transformation.
Thus, Bebot Kids will teach the little ones to program with the Scratch block method, a system that will allow them to design their own computer games. For their part, participants in Bebot First will design, build and program an autonomous robot, applying mathematical and scientific concepts to real-life problems.
The workshops, whose registration is available online until October 2, will host small groups of up to 15 participants, and will be taught by professors and industrial engineers from the Culture and Innovation Unit of the University of Burgos. They will be taught on Saturdays at the new headquarters of Bebot in Miranda de Ebro (C/ Saturnino Rubio, 1) from next October 6 until May 2019.
Aciturri supports this initiative as part of its social commitment and its special link with the promotion of scientific and technological culture and support for the competence and professional development of the children and youth of Miranda de Ebro.
