Flexible assembly platform for EWIRA elements in Assembly Sevilla

The Aciturri Assembly Sevilla team has completed the installation of a flexible platform for the assembly of the extended wing box and the external wings (both left and right) of the Airbus D&S FTB#2 flight demonstrator, in which will be tested some of the new technologies developed within the European R&D program Clean Sky 2.
The new assembly concept will allow to complete three different elements in a single platform as well as exploit new innovative solutions that has been tested as a result of the application of jig-less technology for the spoiler assembly, and in which will be added other ones oriented to tooling costs reduction.
Our company participates in this demonstrator (the FTB#2) with the leadership of the EWIRA consortium, in which, together with Caetano Aeronautic and The Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC) we seek innovative solutions for the design, manufacture and assembly of several of its components.
The implementation of this innovative platform, which also presents opportunities for applications in other programs, is the result of an excellent work and effort in concurrence from our teams of Industrialization, Tooling (design, subcontracting and quality), Assembly Engineering and Aciturri Assembly Sevilla.
