6th delivery of KC390 program to Embraer

The Aciturri Aerostructures team has completed the delivery to Embraer of the sixth KC-390, a program with a high level of concurrence in which we participate since 2011, and whose first delivery we made in 2014.
Since then, our company has successfully developed several engineering activities required to achieve the aircraft’s certification - completed in November 2018 - and its entry into service.
Specifically, the Aciturri aerostructures division participates in the manufacturing with the wing and fuselage fairing of the aircraft, for which we carry out activities of product definition, process and tooling engineering, metallic and composite manufacturing, as well as assembly, certification and post EIS services. Among them, our team has faced a special challenge in the definition of the assembly process on the plane itself, since it had to be carried out in FAL, as well as in the design of the tooling needed for it.
Designed for carrying out both military and civilian missions, the KC-390 is a multi-mission aircraft indicated for transport, refuelling, humanitarian support, rescue, medical evacuation, or firefighting, among others.
The program has firm orders for 33 aircraft and has recently been enhanced by the acquisition of five units by the Portuguese government, whose deliveries will start from 2023.
The entry into service will take place from next September, with the delivery of the aircraft No. 4 to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
