Students from Bebot Miranda participate in ‘First Lego League’

The University of Burgos has hosted the first edition of ‘First Lego League’, a competition aimed to promote teenagers’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through meaningful and playful learning.
An initiative that shares objectives with the Bebot Miranda technological program, promoted by Aciturri together with the Caja de Burgos Foundation and the Coral Cookies Foundation, and in which 44 “bebotes” have participated.
Eight members of our team, who collaborate voluntarily on a weekly basis in their robotics training, have gone with them to this first competition.
In the junior category, a total of 24 boys and girls between 6 and 10 years old participated as representatives of Bebot; along with 11 other teams from the province of Burgos and Cantabria, being the only ones from the city of Miranda de Ebro.
In parallel, another 20 students between 11 and 16 years old competed in the First Lego League, which measured their progress with 22 others teams from Burgos, Cantabria, Soria, Palencia, León, Valladolid and Pontevedra.
For the entities that support the Bebot Miranda initiative, encouraging the participation of our students in these meetings is a great experience for them to continue learning knowledge, growing in values, and sharing new challenges.
