The Clemente Zárate family receives the Castilla y León Business Family Award 2020

The jury highlights their commitment to develop an international business project with a high technological component in Castilla y León.

The Clemente Zárate family, founder of Aciturri, has been recognized today with the Castilla y León 2020 Business Family Award for their commitment and long term commitment to develop in Castilla y León an international business project with a high technological profile, supply chain creator and qualified employment key booster.

This was the opinion of the jury of the XIX edition of this award, which also highlighted the entrepreneurial spirit of Aciturri's founder, Ginés Clemente, which has allowed him to transform the business project he founded in 1977 in Miranda de Ebro (Burgos), consisting of a small 20 sqm machining workshop for the manufacture of components for the agricultural market, into the only Tier 1 aeronautical supplier with 100% Spanish capital.

Thus, the commitment to continuous improvement, results and customer service vocation have allowed Aciturri to consolidate as a direct supplier of OEMS's leaders in the sector such as Airbus, Boeing, Safran, General Electric or Rolls Royce.

The jury also highlighted the coexistence of the first and second generation of the family in the management of the company for 20 years: Ginés Clemente presides over the Board of Directors of Aciturri, while his daughter María Eugenia Clemente leads the development of Alestis Aerospace, a subsidiary company of Aciturri acquired in July 2019. This fact, in the opinion of the jury, has been one of the keys in the development of the business project.

It also emphasizes the commitment of Aciturri with its environment through job creation, distribution of economic value (338 MM euros in 2019), and its collaboration with different social initiatives and promotion of entrepreneurship and technological vocations among youth, such as the Program "Family Business in the Classroom" promoted by EFCL in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of the Junta de Castilla y León.

The jury also recalls Ginés Clemente's personal commitment to business development at local, regional and national levels, which has led him to preside over various organizations such as the Caja de Burgos Foundation (currently) or Family Business of Castile and Leon (2010-2012) and to promote various initiatives for the development of Castile and Leon, such as the Miranda de Ebro Technology Center, the first in the Community, or the Industrial Technical Institute, a reference center for vocational training in Castile and Leon.

The award will be presented on November 25 at a gala event to be held in the Auditorium of the Science Museum of Valladolid.
