The Aciturri Aerostructures division achieved a new delivery record within the Airbus A320 HTP program, with a total of 106 aircraft delivered in the first quarter of the year.
Our company participates in this program with the manufacture of the horizontal stabilizer (HTP) of the aircraft, a project involving our areas of process engineering and tooling, metal fabrication and composites, assembly and after-sales.
Aciturri is responsible for 50% of the pre-equipped rate of the horizontal stabilizer of the 320 program of Airbus, whose cadence is 63 aircraft per month (712 aircraft per year), which also participate as sole supplier for the dorsal fin of the vertical stabilizer (VTP Dorsal Fin).
At the end of the last December, our company received the request from Airbus to increase by 15 the number of aircraft to be delivered in the first quarter of 2019, and added challenge for a program that already had a high rate.
Thanks to the joint work of our Aciturri Aerostructures plants in Boecillo and Tres Cantos, we managed to supply the necessary elementary pieces to our centers of excellence in assembly, Aciturri Assembly and Acatec Aeroassembling, and successfully complete this increase in deliveries.
This new delivery rate was maintained until mid-April, reaching 18 additional aircraft only in the first half of the month, and that has allowed us to finally reach a sustained rate of 71 aircraft/month for the total rate of the program.
