SPACE Spain has hosted its Annual Meeting, in which both general budget and training plans have been approved. Also, Annual Acknowledgements have been awarded.
Whit this recognition, the association distinguishes those of its members who have made the most progress in their industrial performance thanks to the implementation of improvement projects. This year, the companies awarded have been UMEC Tooling & Machining and Hauck Heat Treatment.
UMEC, dedicated to the manufacturing of tooling and detail parts for various sectors, including aerospace, has been awarded for the implementation of continuous improvement tools in its machinery, as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) measurement indicators, delivery indicators and visual management systems on panels.
Hauck has been recognized for its application of the 5-S Lean System at its plant in the Basque Country. The company, that belongs to the Aalberts group, focuses its activity on thermal treatments for the aerospace industry, as well as for the automotive and mechanical engineering sector, among others.
SPACE Spain (Supply chain Progress towards Aeronautical Community Excellence) forms, together with SPACE France and SPACE Deutschland, an independent European network aimed at supporting the European aerospace supply chain for its improvement and development.
Aciturri has been an executive member of SPACE since its foundation, together with the rest of Spanish Tier1 and the OEMs with a presence in our country. Our supply chain director, Sergio Camps, also serves as general secretary of the association in Spain.
